West Moreton Group recognizes the importance of giving young
people with an interest in cattle (and the not-so-young) some
skills at showing cattle and some knowledge of cattle care.
Each year the Group organizes a week-end camp at Boonah Showground.
March 2009 was the sixth, and we have started planning No 7
for 27/28 March 2010.
These camps are for anyone interested in learning
how to prepare for and handle an animal at a show. As well as
Show Preparation and Handling many other topics are covered in
the 2 day program. These topics may include anything from cuts
of meat and which parts of the animal they come from, to vaccinations,
nutrition and Breedplan.

"Hands-on" Cattle Parading
at Boonah Braford Camp
|
Agricultural Science students from several local High Schools
are invited, as are any family of Braford Society members, and
anyone else who wishes to attend.
The weekend is fully catered, and in the past has always proved
an invaluable source of practical knowledge and skills; and has
also been a lot of fun.

An action-packed, practical weekend
for all ages!
|
So, no matter what your age, if you would like to join in for
2010, please give our Secretary Kathy a call on (07) 5460 9010
or email her at kplews@bigpond.net.au
